2018 ceramic studio tour the artists advisory committee of asu art museum ceramics research center is currently planning the 17th annual self guided ceramic studio tour to be held saturday february 24 and sunday february 25 2018 from 10 a m. The ceramics program features a complete and varied line of kilns. The center which houses and displays the asu art museum s extensive ceramic collection serves as a key educational component of the herberger institute for design and the arts through its teaching and research. Ceramics facilities in the asu herberger institute school of art include two large classrooms a glaze lab and technology room and a large patio for kilns and clay mixing.
The tour offers the public a rare opportunity to view working and living spaces of participating artists and view demonstrations of wheel throwing hand building and glazing techniques. This tour will take place outdoors with limited building access.
